Goddammit humanity. I just can't wrap my mind around you sometimes.

It was the right decision. I would hate to have been a judge overseeing that case, but they  made the right decision--yes, most of us will be in agreement that those men should have been granted the right to see to it that their lives be ended on their own terms, and should the circumstances call for clinical assistance, then so be it.

But the matter under trial here, euthanasia/physician assisted suicide, is something that if made legal would certainly require some very nuanced legislation. Judicial approval in this particular situation would have--as the judge correctly reasoned and stated--legal, ethical, and clinical implications with far too broad and general a reach to properly address the complexities of the issue.

It's something that deserves careful attention and some very detailed legislation, not just a court decision. And it's a damn shame that it has to be this way, but hopefully these two men's situation & the ruling they were given will serve as motivation to get some real legislation permitting PAS, and keep things like this from happening again.

Yeah, you're right. I really do hope it brings motivation to people that care and can do something about it. Stuff like this just brings a dark spot to my day.

Bad news: The americans who were on visit leaves tomorrow, just had a great last time with them. Great people, will be missed, but somebody needs to feed the eagles.

Good news: Time to occupy the now open house.

I don't want to have to keep asking. People, come on... We can't start the RP with only 2 players.

I don't know since I don't RP, but from a gut feeling, I'd say this forum isn't really the best when it comes to having big and active RP's. At least not anymore. The members that are active, and enjoys regular RP'ing, are few.

But hey, there are probably uncountable numbers of hardcore RP forums out there, from fantasy to future, post-apocalyptic and normal life RP's. Try 'em out. Not saying you should leave GSR but if you want to RP much...you get my point.

Good idea Faceless. I think I'll keep that in mind for the future.

But for now I still hope for more joiners. I'd better finish what I started.

Begging people to join it, only seems like it will push people away from it more, CudaTakMit. And I'm too busy with school to join and be active, and mostly everyone else is busy with school or work or both, too.

So, since I was required to sign up for two events this week, aside from the other stuff that I was required to go to, I decided to sign up to help set up the novelty fair and poster sale at 8am this morning, since I didn't have classes today anyway. And I had planned on going back to bed afterwards.

At the novelty fair, they had laptop cases, cell phone holders, iphone cases, ipad cases, and kindle cases that you could pick any picture off of the internet and have it put on there for free (because the school was already paying them to do it). And then there were corkboards.

Well, three of us showed up to help, one girl had class at 10 when it started, and me and the other girl didn't have classes. Me and the one that did have class were helping the poster sale people to begin with before the novelty fair started because I had to help with it when it did. The poster people were literally standing around doing nothing while coming up with ridiculous things for us to do, and the person over everything was getting really pissed at them.

So, finally, I got stuck standing for four hours straight at the novelty fair, using a weird iron press thing and putting everyone's pictures on things for them. It was kinda fun, the guy who I was helping was cool, but had his jerkish moments at times. I messed up in the beginning because I was still getting used to it, but surprisingly didn't burn myself, although I managed to hurt myself on the tape thing. But I didn't get to get a picture put on anything because, according to my friends I'm not assertive enough, but I really didn't mind. I did so many of them that I was ready to get out of there when 2pm finally came around.
