GCN/GBA link cable... - help me...

(1/1)

pyroclasmicinferno:
can u play golden sun on gamecube with it???

AveneR:
No, actually, you can't...

No-one has confirmed a Golden Sun game for the GameCube and I don't think there is going to be one in the near future, for Camelot and Nintendo decided to make this a GBA-Only RPG.

Without some kind of converter for the GC it is impossible to play Golden Sun on the GC with the Link Cable.

The Link Cable is used to transfer data, similar to the GBA Link Cable, but not for uploading a whole game or something like that.

So, for the Link Cable to work in this particular way, it is most likely that both systems need some kind of cartridge/disc. That way, it would be possible to play Golden Sun in 3D for instance.. but don't get all excited over this for it is probably not going to happen (soon).

If you just meant whether or not it would be possible to just play your GBA game on a TV screen when it's hooked up to a GC, I'd have to say 'no' again. I am not 100% sure but according to me, this is not easily done this way. You have to buy a special device which lets you hook up your GBA to your TV, although the picture quality is not very good this way for all GBA games were designed to match the screen ratio of the GBA LCD display.

Take care,

Well, I heard that Camelot has confirmed they are working on a Golden Sun title from the Gamecube... or maybe the person that said so (not any newbie sorta person) just messed up their resources. As a matter of fact, here is the stuff I got it from...

Anyway, the games on your GBA adaptor to the GCN are only for stuff like transporting a chao from your GBA Sonic game to the GCN. That kinda thing. You cannot play the games on it, but that would be rather nice, wouldn't it?

AveneR:
It could be possible that they misinterpreted some stuff ofcourse but there actually is a possibility a GC version of GS will be released sometime...

IGN also confirmed that Camelot has been working on a new RPG for the GC but they did not know any titles at that moment so they can't actually say if it's going to be a GS game or not..

So, by now, that page you gave Black Ice, could have found out it really is a GS game.. so, that would be cool on one side and a little bit disappointing on the other side:

Good thing: The game probably looks way better [well, that's what most people think...], has a higher gameplay value, better sounding music.. etc..

Bad thing [according to me]: This was supposed to be a GBA-Only RPG.. and Camelot it kind of breaking that promise if they start making the game for the GC as well.. and secondly, I just love 2D-graphics.. I don't like that 3D stuff very well, unless the story is just great and the graphics have a large variety.. I always see that when people start making stuff in 3D environments, the story and music is a bit on the weaker side.. The beatiful graphics overwhelme you at first, but then you also want a good story or else it's kinda worthless..

Just my two cents,

Take care,
